The Opportunity

The Manufacturing Lead exists to translate production strategy into daily execution on the manufacturing floor. This seat owns the coordination, quality, and reliability of BIORAY’s production operations ensuring the right work happens, in the right order, with the right standards every day.

This role owns the output of the manufacturing team, including direct leadership of the blender operator team. It ensures production schedules are met, quality standards are upheld, and processes are executed with precision and consistency. The Manufacturing Lead establishes structure, enforces standards, and ensures documentation is accurate and complete across all production activity.

What the Role Entails

This role owns the day-to-day execution of manufacturing operations at BIORAY. The Manufacturing Lead coordinates production schedules, directs the blender operator team and broader production staff, and ensures all work is executed according to defined standards and procedures. The seat maintains quality control, enforces safety protocols, and ensures all production documentation is completed accurately and consistently.

The role organizes workflows, aligns equipment and materials, and ensures production output meets company standards for quality and reliability. It also drives continuous improvement by identifying inefficiencies and strengthening the systems that support scalable manufacturing operations.

Core Responsibilities

  • Production Supervision - Supervise, schedule and coordinate the activities of production workers, including machine operators, assemblers, and technicians. Assign tasks, set production goals, and ensure adherence to production schedules. Be the point person for the QA & Operations manager.
  • Quality Assurance - Monitor product quality throughout the manufacturing process and implement measures to maintain high standards of quality and consistency. Conduct inspections and audits to identify and address any issues or defects in process, materials & packaging.
  • Process Improvement & Project Management - Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement changes to streamline production processes, reduce waste, and improve efficiency. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement best practices and innovative solutions. Utilizing project management tools (Gantt charts, Zoho etc).
  • Safety Compliance - Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies to maintain a safe working environment for all employees. Conduct safety training and audits, and enforce safety protocols to prevent accidents and injuries.
  • Equipment Maintenance - Coordinate preventive maintenance and repairs for manufacturing equipment and machinery to minimize downtime and ensure optimal performance. Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Inventory Management - Monitor inventory levels of raw materials, components, and finished goods to ensure adequate supply for production activities. Coordinate with procurement and logistics teams to optimize inventory levels and minimize stockouts.
  • Team Leadership - Lead, train, and motivate production team members, including the blender operator team, to achieve production targets and goals. Provide coaching, training, and performance feedback to develop team members and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Documentation and Reporting - Document & follow approved methods. Maintain accurate production records, including production reports, quality inspections, and inventory records. Escalate issues & generate regular reports on production performance, efficiency, and quality metrics for management review.

Role Requirements

  • Ability to work full-time on-site in Irvine, California manufacturing facility
  • Ability to stand, walk, and work on the production floor for extended periods
  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs as needed within manufacturing operations
  • Ability to safely use and operate power tools within a manufacturing environment
  • Ability to lead and coordinate a blender operator team during production
  • Strong manual dexterity for handling materials, tools, and production equipment
  • Ability to follow detailed instructions and standardized operating procedures
  • Ability to complete accurate production documentation and records
  • Experience working with production documentation and reporting systems
  • Familiarity with project management tools (Gantt charts, Zoho or similar systems)
  • Experience coordinating manufacturing equipment maintenance schedules
